Holy Cross School, a Catholic school located in the East/Northeast Bronx, is a multicultural parish-based school community dedicated to the ministry of educating children of all races, colors, and creeds, Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Teacher, administrators, staff, parents, and alumni believe that we have an integral place in our school community. Education is our sacred enterprise. We aim to promote the Catholic faith and social justice, and we commit to impact the life of each individual child entrusted to our care.
Holy Cross community commits to work together to help each student reach maturity as an educated person guided by Christian values and ideals. To achieve this end, we strive to:
Create an excellent and safe educational environment for children in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth.
Provide our students with a complete and thorough elementary education in all disciplines prescribed by the New York State Department of Education and anchored in the Essential Learnings of the Archdiocese of New York and the New York State Common Core Standards.
Promote students' cognitive growth, as well as their spiritual, physical, emotional, and social development.
Live according to Christian ideals treating community members with respect, compassion, and love in keeping with the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi and the gospel's call to live in love.
Help our students to become "children-for-others" as they form a community of service.
Respect each child as capable of learning with unique gifts and educational needs, finding the key to unlock his/her potential.
The entire school community works to maximize all of the school's financial and human resources to realize this mission while building a secure foundation to serve our school community.
